Take a look back at our 2024 Annual Fundraiser Dinner

Spanish Community Center comes together every year to celebrate the communities we serve with our Annual Fundraising Dinner! All proceeds support our various programs that provide social and legal services to Will County, Kankakee County, and beyond. We were honored to be joined with amazing supporters, community members, and elected officials this evening, and to present several community members with awards to acknowledge their heartfelt dedication to our organization.

2024 Awardees

People's Legacy: Midland States Bank

Agent of Change: Maher & Hernandez Families

Friendship: University of St. Francis

Herkimer St: Gioviris Favia

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to our award recipients, as it is your support and passion that helps propel our mission in the community. Our work would not be possible without you! Each year, we present four awards:

The Agent of Change: Recognizes a team member, Board Director, or community leader who embodies SCC's values of excellence, trust through integrity, and advocacy for and with the community.

The Herkimer St. Award: Named after the original home of the Spanish Community Center, this award honors a volunteer, who like the original founders of SCC, has selflessly served our community members with inspiring dedication.

The People’s Legacy Award: Created to acknowledge the original legacy of the Spanish Community Center, which was founded in 1969 as a response to Latino’s needs in the Joliet area, today SCC serves everyone who comes to our door. No one is excluded, and services are diverse and sensitive to the ever-changing needs of our communities. This award recognizes a donor whose generosity allows us to uphold the legacy envisioned for SCC over 50 years ago, ensuring that we remain a place of welcome for all.

The Friendship Award: Named after the heart of the Spanish Community Center. Today’s center welcomes all members of the community regardless of race or ethnic origin. We are multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-lingual, and multi-generational. We recognize that our efforts to get here have not been our own sweat and tears. Rather, it has been the work of an entire community, partners, and friendships. This award goes out to a community partner, who in their kindness and generosity has seen SCC as one of their own.

We look forward to seeing you next year!

Thank you to our generous sponsors
